Welcome. Here’s how this works.
We know two things keep people from getting the dental care they need: fear and affordability. This page is built to take the mystery out of both.
Your first visit: exam, X-rays, and a plan — no cleaning yet
Plan on about an hour. Here’s how it goes.
- Exam and X-rays with Dr. DeVuyst. Your first appointment is with the dentist and his assistant, not the hygienist. Dr. DeVuyst and his assistants take digital X-rays, do a thorough exam, and show you what they see on a screen, in plain language. You’ll only ever see one dentist here, and this is where you meet him.
- A sit-down with Jenny. Every new patient then meets Jenny, our Patient Care Coordinator, in her office — a comfortable room away from the treatment area. She goes over what Dr. DeVuyst found, what (if anything) needs to happen, what it costs, what your insurance is likely to cover, and payment options. Most people tell us this is the part they were dreading — and the part that ends up feeling like a relief. You’ll walk out knowing exactly where you stand — with a written plan and no surprises waiting.
- Your cleaning is scheduled next. We book your cleaning with Lindsey, Alyssa or Christine on a separate visit, so your first appointment stays focused on getting the full picture.
If you’re nervous or it’s been years: say so when you book. Same visit, different pace. The chair stays upright until you’re ready, no one touches anything until you say so. If sedation makes sense for your treatment, Jenny will talk you through a Private Friday.
What to bring
- A list of any medications you take
- Any known allergies or medical conditions
- Your insurance card, if you have one
A parent or guardian must accompany patients under 18.
Cost, insurance & financing: what it costs, before you ask
Estimates first. Every plan comes with a written estimate before anything is scheduled. No surprises.
Sedation. The sedation appointment itself — medication, extended private time, and monitoring — is about $350, in addition to treatment. Treatment costs vary widely by patient.
Free implant exam. Implant consultations with Dr. DeVuyst are complimentary.
Insurance. We accept most dental insurance plans and file claims on your behalf. Call or text with your plan name and we’ll check your coverage before your visit.
Payment. Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.
Monthly payment plans. Two options, both quick to apply for:
- Sunbit — Apply with Sunbit (link: https://apply.sunbit.com/Dentist4Life)
- CareCredit — Apply with CareCredit (link: https://www.carecredit.com/go/RHT386)
Your advocate. Jenny, our Patient Care Coordinator, has been a chairside assistant and can explain any procedure and any cost in terms you’ll understand. She’ll help you prioritize what needs to happen now and what can wait, and build a payment plan that fits.
