Dental implants, placed by an Implant Fellow — with sedation if you want it

A dental implant is a small titanium post placed in the jaw that acts as a new tooth root. A crown, bridge, or denture is then attached to it. Done well, an implant looks, feels, and works like a natural tooth and can last for decades.

Why patients choose Dr. DeVuyst for implants

  • Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and trained through the Misch International Implant Institute
  • 3D CT imaging in-office — every implant is planned on a 3D scan of your jaw, so placement is precise and there are no surprises on the day of surgery
  • Places and restores implants in-house — one dentist, one plan, no referrals across town
  • Sedation is optional. Most implants are placed comfortably with local anesthetic; for anxious patients, Dr. DeVuyst also offers oral conscious sedation on Private Fridays

What implants can fix

  • One missing tooth — a single implant and crown
  • Several missing teeth — an implant-supported bridge
  • A full arch — an implant-supported denture that snaps into place, doesn’t slip, and needs no adhesive. This is the only kind of denture we make.
  • Failing teeth — extraction and implant placement, often on the same day

Free implant exam

Your implant consultation with Dr. DeVuyst is complimentary. He’ll examine your mouth, review digital X-rays, and tell you honestly whether implants are the right option — and what the alternatives are if they’re not. Then you’ll sit down with Jenny to go over the plan, cost, and financing.

Implants and sedation — if you need it

Many implant patients do just fine with local anesthetic. But many of our implant patients are people who avoided the dentist for years and now have several teeth that can’t be saved. Under oral sedation on a Private Friday, extractions and implant placement can often be completed together in a single visit, with the patient remembering little of it.

Frequently asked questions

Does getting an implant hurt?

With local anesthetic, most patients feel pressure but not pain. With oral sedation, most don’t remember the procedure at all.

How long does it take?

Placement is usually one visit. The implant then heals for several months before the final crown is attached. We’ll give you a timeline at your exam.

How much do implants cost?

It depends on how many and what’s attached to them. You’ll receive a written estimate at your free exam, and monthly payment plans are available through Sunbit and CareCredit.

Am I too old for implants?

Almost never. Health matters more than age; we’ll review your history.

My current denture is loose and uncomfortable. Can you help?

Yes — this is one of the most common reasons people come to us. Implants can anchor a denture so it stays put. Your free implant exam is the place to start.
